Adecco’s Personal Information Handling Rule

Article 1 (Purpose of the Use of Personal Information)

  1. Adecco Ltd. (hereinafter called “Adecco”) will use the personal information supplied by you (hereinafter called “the Personal Information”) only to provide services (hereinafter called “Adecco’s HR Services”) as shown below, and will handle it properly and appropriately. (For use of Adecco’s HR Services, please also see “Terms of Use” of Adecco’s HR Services.)

    • (1) Temporary placement (general temporary staffing, specified temporary staffing, and new graduates/recent graduates temporary staffing)
    • (2) Temp to perm placement
    • (3) Outsourcing services (telemarketing, sales activities, visitor reception/guiding, and others)
    • (4) Permanent placement (career change support)
    • (5) Consulting (HR management/HR consulting, and outplacement)
    • (6) Web-based contract and attendance management system “Re-Quest”
  2. Adecco will also use the Personal Information for the following purposes:

    • (1) To ask you to fill out questionnaires for the purpose of enhancing our service quality
    • (2) To send various campaign and seminar information, or gifts to you
    • (3) To reply to your questions or inquiries about our services, or give related advice to you
    • (4) To contact you in case of emergency or a natural disaster

Article 2 (Voluntary Provision of Personal Information)

Adecco asks you to provide the Personal Information on a voluntary basis. Please also understand that if Adecco has not received some necessary information, we may not be able to offer you some of Adecco’s HR Services as described in Article 1 hereof.

Article 3 (Management of Personal Information)

Adecco will use the Personal Information only for the purposes specified in Article 1 hereof, as well as in accordance with Adecco’s policies on protection of personal information, other Adecco’s related rules, and relevant laws and regulations.
Adecco also agrees to properly manage the Personal Information so as to avoid unauthorized leakage, loss, modification, use, or access of the Personal Information.

Article 4 (Non-Returnable Policy)

Any documents or items you have submitted to Adecco are non-returnable. Adecco will delete, destroy, or dispose the said documents or items on our own responsibility.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party)

Adecco will not provide the Personal Information to a third party without the disclosing party’s consent except in the cases described below:

  • (1) Provision or disclosure of the Personal Information is required by law
  • (2) Adecco has advised or notified to the disclosing party the necessity of provision or disclosure of the Personal Information, and obtained the disclosing party’s consent to the said provision or disclosure
  • (3) Provision or disclosure of the Personal Information is required to protect human life or body, or property of an individual or an institution, and Adecco has difficulties in obtaining the disclosing party’s consent to the said provision or disclosure
  • (4) The Personal Information is transferred to a third party because of a corporate merger or any other legal succession, and the receiving party agrees to use the Personal Information only for permitted purposes
  • (5) Provision or disclosure of the Personal Information is particularly necessary to enhance public health or promote sound growth of children, and Adecco has difficulties in gaining the disclosing party’s approval for the said provision or disclosure
  • (6) Provision or disclosure of the Personal Information is essential for a central or municipal government, or its affiliated or entrusted agency to execute the duties required by law, and it is considered that obtaining the disclosing party’s approval might obstruct the execution of the said duties
  • (7) Adecco deems it necessary to provide the Personal Information to a research agency to implement relief measures without delay so as to prevent or deal with a personal information leak accident, a web hacking incident, or any other event, including but not limited to all the actions prohibited by the Anti-Unauthorized Access Act, which might cause or have caused damage to Adecco
  • (8) Adecco deems it necessary to provide the Personal Information to an insurance company so that Adecco can claim for insurance benefits when Adecco becomes liable for damage compensation

Article 6 (Shared Use of Personal Information)

Adecco will use Personal Information as indicated below

  • Items of Personal Information subject to Shared Use

  • Name/Email Address/Phone Number/Fax Number/Trading History

  • Scope of Shared Users

  • The Adecco Group Companies (Domestic and Overseas)

  • Purposes of Shared Use

  • For the guidance and the suggestion of the service that the Adecco Group provides

  • Acquisition method

  • Acquisition by Document, Electronic data (such as emails), telephone and interview

  • The Responsible Person for Shared Use of Personal Information

Article 7 (Entrustment of Personal Information)

Only to the extent required to accomplish the purposes mentioned in Article 1 hereof, Adecco may entrust personal information to an institution or an individual that Adecco is assured is implementing personal information management practices which are equal to or higher than those of Adecco in terms of security level.

Article 8 (Contact Points for Inquiries or Requests Regarding Personal Information)

  1. If you have any requests or inquiries about the Personal Information, including but not limited to disclosure or deletion of the Personal Information, please contact Adecco as shown below:

In case you have disclosed the Personal Information to Adecco through a website or anything else run by an agency or a company other than Adecco, Adecco, unfortunately, is not in a position to handle questions or comments about the Personal Information. Please contact the agency or the company who operates the said website or others.

Article 9 (Force Majeure)

Adecco will not be held liable for any loss or leak of the Personal Information that has been caused by a force majeure event, including, without limitation, an act of God or unauthorized access beyond our control.

Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction by Agreement)

This Adecco’s Personal Information Handling Rule is governed by laws of Japan and any disputes relating to this Rule shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
